By Kara McDonald June 16, 2016

YogurtBarleySoup.jpgInspired by frequently sought-out food and beverage preferences, USDEC will highlight three on-trend prototypes at Booth 1931 during the 2016 Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Conference in July. Be sure attend to sample the yogurt barley soup, samosa hybrid and mango chutney cottage cheese dip while gathering other resources and insights.

Limited complementary Expo passes are available for interested food and beverage companies not already registered for the show. So contact us and mark your calendar for July 17 – 19 in Chicago. When visiting USDEC’s booth 1931, be sure to take advantage of these offerings:

    1. Learn how U.S. dairy ingredients enable companies to deliver on consumer trends.
    2. Tap into the abundance of USDEC resources to make formulating with dairy easy and inspiring.
    3. Enter to win one of ten, $50 Amazon gift card by subscribing to Dairy Spotlight at the show (or directly online from July 7 to 19).

Each prototype was carefully crafted to be convenient, nutritious and packed with protein. Products that are easy to prepare and convenient to consume, such as soups, dips and snacks, support the popular on-the-go lifestyle. More meals are followed by or supplemented with snack-like items, and the ingredients used have a large influence on consumer appeal.

Globally, 67% of consumers want to recognize ingredient labels and 40% say simplicity is key. The prototypes will be made with few ingredients that are recognizable to most consumers, including dairy proteins, cheese, Greek-style yogurt and permeate. They will offer the health benefits and nutrition often looked for in snack products.

The prototypes meet a variety of industry trends, including high-quality protein, healthy aging, global inspiration and benefits of protein throughout the day. Experts will be available at the booth to answer questions about the prototypes and U.S. Dairy’s advantages.
