• Dairy Proteins Hitting the Mark with Consumers

By USDEC Staff September 4, 2015

Consumers have increasingly become aware of the importance of incorporating more high-quality proteins into their diets. Identifying the best proteins and fully capitalizing on those proteins is the next step toward a healthier diet.

Dairy proteins have shot to the forefront of the global protein landscape. They offer numerous functional, nutritional and flavor benefits over plant or meat proteins, making them excellent choices for health-conscious consumers of all ages.

The amount and timing in which protein is consumed is also important. Balancing protein intake throughout the day, aiming for 20 to 30 grams at each meal, will help consumers maximize the benefits of dairy protein.

Susan Larson, associate researcher at the Wisconsin Center for Dairy Research at the University of Wisconsin, explores dairy proteins in greater depth in the Dairy Detective column from the August 2015 issue of Dairy Foods magazine.
